CONTROL TOWER SIMULATOR
TECHNOLOGICAL RING
A centrally planned lab, enclosed by a cylindrical screen where, thanks to a sophisticated video projection system, the real-time view from a "real" control tower is displayed. A circular console at the center of the space allows three operators to simulate air traffic control activities and monitor the outcomes directly on the screen, with a 270° field of view. The console integrates the latest digital equipment and, despite the limited space, successfully combines ergonomics and design, making the simulation experience highly realistic. As with the flight simulator, this system—except for the servers managing the virtual reality, housed in a dedicated room—is designed as a seamless, harmonious unit, free from disruptive elements. The technological components (some of which are fully retractable) are perfectly integrated into the console’s design. The work surface is carved, shaped, and angled to accommodate all the necessary instruments, ensuring optimal usability while allowing operators to keep their eyes always fixed on the screen. |
