PERFORMING CASE
The continuous innovation in electronic music has transformed the role of the DJ from an entertainer into a true musical performer, a real composer. As a result, DJ equipment has undergone a radical transformation: the console has become a technological stage where artists deliver complex and spectacular audiovisual performances. This evolution, supported by increasingly sophisticated digital equipment, has not, however, led to significant innovations in DJ "consoles," which have largely remained simple "containers with legs." Our research has taken a completely different approach: we have designed an integrated support that not only houses and transports the equipment but—above all—enhances the spectacular nature of the performance, turning it into a true live show. This has been made possible through a video system that captures and broadcasts the DJ’s performance in real time on a dual front-facing screen. The screen can also be connected to a laptop placed on a retractable shelf within the console, combining video art with live music. With centralized connections, an aluminum shell, and the ability to store the upper section inside the base for use as a transport "case," this console is both practical and ergonomic. |
