New Mint Museum - IPZS Rome
PRESERVING THROUGH INNOVATION
Restoring the essence of the historic Mint of Rome, reconciling its architectural, historical, and symbolic legacy with its new role as a museum, educational, and administrative space. The intervention seeks to strip away unnecessary layers, revealing the clarity of its original composition. A gesture of purification, complemented by a carefully designed contemporary addition: a metal filigree volume, topped by a floating roof and supported by an inverted chimney. A powerful architectural statement, bridging memory and renewal. The museum unfolds in harmony with the restored space, weaving a subtle dialogue between container and content, between architecture and narrative. |
